Existing stairway to main floor shows to right; new stairway into basement will
be where black cylinder is standing above that footing.
View from inside main house basement towards new rear basement area. Note underpin column to far right of picture, still supporting old crawlspace foundation. This will be embedded in final pour.
Framing the rear addition
Old crawl space basement prepared for final concrete wall spray-pour.
Beginning concrete spray application at ramp entry, filling in around previously-installed steel columns on lug pads. Main hose is four-inch for material, a special blend of concrete with additives; smaller hose is one-inch air supply for propulsion.
West wall partially sprayed
with low-slump mix concrete, embedding reinforcing bars and previously-installed
steel columns. Continuous footing has already been placed prior to wall
installation.
In this view, material is being cut to plumb with trowels while spraying
continues on other portions. Sprayer makes rounds as material sets up and
others trowel-finish.
First material sprayed in utility corner of old section
View to south showing freshly-sprayed walls with excess struck material piled in center of clay floor
With the floor graded and vapor barrier and gravel spread, 2-inch foam insulation is laid and radiant heating tubing is being installed, stapled to foam.
Pouring of floor in progress. Concrete from ready-mix truck in driveway is dumped into special pumper truck, and then is pumped via tube in foreground left into basement.
